Philippines Twitter — Sports patron and Harbour CEO Mikee Romero announced that if given the opportunity to serve and lead the Philippine National Shooting Association he intends to further revitalize the association and make the sport a regular fixture in the UAAP and NCAA calendar.
If elected, he will request the Department of Education to include shooting, particularly pistol and rifle, in its Physical Education (PE) curriculum in the UAAP and NCAA in order to discover and inspire young shooters.
Romero, who is also into basketball and baseball, is even willing to donate house guns and pellets to any school interested to adopt the shooting program the association is going to formulate.
Romero was elated with the support of the respected pistolero, saying his endorsement will have a significant weight to his candidacy.
The moving target aggrupation of James Chua had earlier indicated that it will support Romero all the way and its three representatives to the 15-man Board are willing to step down to give way for the nomination of the young executive.
He will also seek a stronger relationship with the Philippine Olympic Committee headed by Jose “Peping” Cojuangco and Philippine Sports Commission chaired by Richie Garcia.
